Welcome to GLT
YEAR 2024: OUR YEAR OF TRUE GREATNESS
- Psalm 71:21
The theme of True Greatness unfolds in RCCG GLT's focus, rooted in Psalms 71:21's promise of increased greatness and divine comfort. The pursuit of True Greatness involves intentional prayer, echoing Jabez's request in 1 Chronicles 4:10, and underscores the importance of humility, as exemplified by John the Baptist. Humility is portrayed through acceptance of divine mandates and recognizing one's role. Associating with the blessed is deemed pivotal for True Greatness, drawing parallels with Joseph's impact on the Egyptians and Jacob's influence on Laban. Proverbs 27:17 emphasizes the positive influence of being surrounded by the blessed. Expectancy is highlighted as essential, aligned with Proverbs 16:1, acknowledging human preparation guided by divine response. Acts of charity, following Jesus' directive in Matthew 25:35-45, are celebrated as contributors to True Greatness. The summary concludes with a call to prayer and righteousness, emphasizing spiritual dimensions in the pursuit of True Greatness. These words inspire the RCCG GLT community to align their aspirations with the divine promise of lasting and joyous success.

About RCCG
In July 1909, in Ondo State, Nigeria, a child was born into the Akindayomi family. Despite being
surrounded by idol worshippers, he sought a deeper connection with God. After joining various
churches, he finally heard a voice calling him to be God's servant. This led to a period of
trials and spiritual growth, during which he received confirmation of his divine calling through
scripture. In 1952, he founded the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) after a vision from
God. The RCCG grew rapidly, with a covenant established between God and its founder, promising
divine provision for the church's needs. A successor was chosen, Enoch Adejare Adeboye, who
became pastor in 1975. The founder, Josiah Akindayomi, passed away in 1980, formally passing the
mantle to Adeboye.
Since 1981, the RCCG has experienced exponential growth, with thousands of parishes established
in Nigeria and internationally. The church's influence extends across Africa, Europe, the United
States, and the Caribbean. Notably, the RCCG organizes the Holy Ghost Service, drawing crowds of
around 500,000 people monthly. This event has expanded globally, reaching countries like the UK,
USA, and Australia.
Josiah Akindayomi's vision and dedication laid the foundation for the RCCG's worldwide impact.
His successor, Adeboye, continues to lead the church, fostering its growth and spreading its
message of faith. The RCCG's journey reflects the transformative power of faith and the enduring
legacy of one man's divine calling.
